We do not advise you to stop taking any prescribed medication on your own. Stopping an antidepressant abruptly and without medical supervision can be dangerous. If you feel that your treatment isn’t working, you should notify your Wellnite doctor during your next follow-up call. Antidepressants take time to work; your doctor may advise you to stick with it a little longer. If you're having uncomfortable side effects, you can text our support line and book an appointment with your doctor. Your doctor can help you safely stop a medication if they judge it’s the right thing to do. If it's an emergency, please call 911.
That varies by person and by treatment. If your Wellnite doctor prescribes medication, they can estimate how long it might take for the drug to work. There are several different classes of antidepressants and they work within the body in different ways. For many antidepressant drugs, it’s common for it to take several weeks before the effects are noticed.
For therapy sessions, you may want to discuss with your therapists and plan your visits accordingly.
No, we do not. Due to Telehealth laws and regulations, Wellnite doctors cannot prescribe controlled medications such as narcotics and benzodiazepines. If you’re currently taking these or any other medications, your Wellnite doctor needs to know. This way, we can check for interactions with any potential treatment we prescribe.
That all depends on your doctor’s professional medical opinion, based on your history and symptoms. Your Wellnite doctor will go over your history and symptoms in detail. Then you’ll review your options, which may include antidepressant medication.
If you’ve taken yourself off your medication without medical supervision, you should contact your doctor right away. Stopping an antidepressant medication suddenly and without medical supervision can be harmful for you and withdrawals can be extremely discomforting. Consult a doctor and discuss your plan if you need to wean off medication.
If your previous treatment ended a while ago and you want to seek new treatment, it’s easy to get started. Just tell us your medical history and make sure to include the details we ask for about your previous treatment.
Yes, if you feel like your medication or treatment is not a good fit for you; you can get an appointment with your Dr. right away. During your regular follow-up calls, you can also explain to your doctor if a treatment isn’t working. Your doctor may decide to modify the treatment or change it altogether. If you need to report a side effect or aren’t sure whether you can keep taking your medication, you can text our nurse support line: (415) 449-7796 Support is available 12 hours/day, 6 days/week to help you with all your treatment needs.
If you already see a doctor for your mental health conditions, you should keep seeing them if you’re able. It's important to stay on any medication they prescribe you. Stopping antidepressants without medical supervision is dangerous.
If your current doctor is too expensive, you should ask if they offer more affordable options.
Wellnite is voted one of the most affordable mental health platform in the United States. Moreover, if you switch to Wellnite, you will have a coordinated care since we have both therapists and psychiatrists on our platform.
You absolutely don’t have to. For some patients, our doctors recommend antidepressant medication if they judge that the treatment can help. It’s always up to you which treatment option you choose. However, you can always get an appointment with your therapist if you feel there is a need for that. You can reach out to our customer support team to assist you with it.

We’ve seen many pay costs that are much, much higher. That’s why we started Wellnite to finally bring people a real solution. Our pricing plan starts at $37.5.
